Jul 25I’m having a hard time processing all of the thoughts and feelings inside of me tonight. I’ll try to throw a few things down on a list…
- Today was my last time preaching in Hamtramck (@RCHamtown) – tears ran down my face before I stepped out of my office. Wow, we’ve come so far in such a short period of time. PRAISE JESUS! I love these people and I’m so thankful that God placed us here. It’s been a great adventure!
- Tears were conquered by JOY as I walked into a packed (standing room only) church! So much energy, passion and love! Worship was electric (GREAT job Tim West & team)! There was a cool atmosphere of expectancy & tons of visitors!
- Preached a message from Acts 28 that I think you would love! It was unique & practical – something that we could apply over & over again as we journey forward, now as TWO churches (with ONE heart)! At the conclusion, the front of the church was full with people asking Christ to be their Lord & Savior. POWERFUL! You can listen to message HERE.
- I spoke with A LOT of people that will be joining us in Detroit for @RCDetroit on August 8th! If you haven’t read about our NEW LOCATION, click this: MAJESTIC!
- The next 2 weeks are going to be crazy, busy, stressful, hard but AWESOME! We are hosting 2 big events: WAR WEEK and then, DETROIT AIM – combined, these 2 weeks will bring hundreds of teenagers from all across the country right here to the D! They will be doing outreach, community service, acts of kindness, kids ministry & door-to-door prayer. We will impact thousands. And then, START OUR CHURCH! Ahhhhhh!!
- I’m so challenged by Paul’s final instructions to Timothy, “But you—keep your eye on what you’re doing; accept the hard times along with the good; keep the Message alive; do a thorough job as God’s servant.” 2 Timothy 4:5 msg. — such a loaded verse (feel free to read on for more).
- What’s ONE thing God is asking you to do this week? Be specific (in comments) – it will be good accountability for us all… I’ll go first.
Consumed with Christ, Chilly

Ok, I said I’ll go first… here it is:
(besides specific spiritual stuff) God wants me to exercise and drink lots of water. God cares about my health and I needed His push to take care of myself physically in the midst of all the ministry. I’M GONNA DO IT!
God is really pushing me to daily examine my attitude at work. Am I being a good boss and handling well what He’s given me?
1) finish tiny bed.
2) finish web site i’m working on.
3) send a response to a certain video I greatly enjoyed watching
For me:
With all the details of War Week and RCHamtown this coming Sunday – I am just challenged to talk to Jesus about everything. I need to talk to Him more as I drive, prepare, minister, serve, plan, host, lead, etc.
I want to give Him more 5 minute increments throughout the day.
He’s telling me to let my thoughts/attitude be COMPLETELY owned and led by him. I catch myself at times drifting but he’s saying, “Make me everything on your mind.” God is so good, and all that I desire/need!!
Pastor Chilly, thanks! I believe you caught me in a “drift” for a minute there. I’m back on track
-Praying for you and the next few weeks!
God is asking me to train for the race – every decision I make, every person I hang out with, every response/reaction needs to be intentional. Basically remembering him at all times. Specifically, I will be able to do this better by 1. getting to bed earlier, 2. listening to uplifting music throughout the day, and 3. Plan ahead for each day.
God wants me to be purposeful with all of my time. With so much going on, beginning work, and having Anth gone for another week, I need focus. That means focusing on Him first!
God wants me to stay focused and sensitive to His still, small voice even amongst the busyness of the next two weeks. It is important to plan but I don’t want any of the planning we did or schedules we made to become a substitute for the voice of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
