- I’ve visited 49 states (still waiting on Alaska) – anyone need a speaker UP there? Mrs. Palin??
- I always clip my finger nails outside (regardless of weather).
- My consistent prayer time is 3am. When’s yours?
- I have a super cute wife!
- I sleep, most nights of the winter, in a hoodie (w/ hood up).
- I’ve worn the same cologne for over 20 years. Feel free to buy me some, I’m almost out…
- Boxer-briefs
- Beginning THIS Sunday, I will be the pastor of TWO churches! Note: we’re launching a really cool NEW website later this week!
- I have 5 kids: 3 daughters & 2 sons – they are THE BEST!
- I workout 5-6 days each week – consists of elliptical machine, sit-up bench & free weights. I have a lot more shrinking to do!
- Detroit rocks!!
- I once wrote a 12 chapter book and then destroyed my hard drive before it could be published. Please no advice about how I could recover the info. (been there/done that) – it’s gone & I’m ok with it…
- I try to journal everyday (love my moleskine) – been doing this for about 15 years.
- Lately, my Starbucks drink is a “Triple Grande Wet Cappuccino” – mmmm, now I want one! … but iced water is my favorite drink – that’s a miracle!
- I’m a big Apple fan – iPhone, Macbook Pro, iMac … simply the best. If you disagree, that’s ok – it won’t be the first time you’ve been wrong. Ha! (ouch)
- Breakfast IS the best meal of the day – and can & should be enjoyed at any hour & in any setting.
- Favorite Sports teams: Football – Steelers, Baseball – Tigers, Basketball – Pistons (I guess), Hockey – Redwings, College – the Ohio State and Soccer – Manchester United.
- A verse I’m thinking about today: “The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith” 1 Timothy 1:5 – this is my goal in every interaction I have & in our church(es)! What verse are you think about today?
- I like snow.
- The current soundtrack in the background of my thoughts is “Where the Wild Things Are” – which explains some of my EMO-like feelings… (maybe I should find some Screamo!??) – umm, no. The new Switchfoot album is really growing on me too…
- I can’t believe you made it all the way to the bottom of this list!!! WHY ARE YOU HERE?!

I like snow too.
Breakfast rocks! I cannot go to a Coney Island without getting some kind of breakfast meal. It must include eggs, hashbrowns AND pancakes. Whoa.
When I was pregnant, I could devour two breakfast orders without any trouble. Shocking, I know. Yum.
I do the hoodie with the hood up thing to sleep in the winter as well…which really upsets Aaron who sleeps even the coldest Michigan nights in a T-shirt, mesh shorts, a sheet draped over his legs and a fan blowing on him.
Random about me: Most kids go to basketball camp, football camp, cheerleading camp, even band camp, during their summer High School years. Not me. I went to journalism camp.
Last item: Because I’m on break, and I enjoy your blogs. Oh and by the way, I’m an avid Spurs fan. I am a native San Antonio, Texan.
My prayer time switches through out the week depending on my schedule… but its usually right after I get off work, or before I go to bed
