Dec 26I’m less than an hour from the beginning of our FINAL Night-Light at Real Church. I’m feeling really emotional… Two years ago we added the Saturday evening service in order to divert some of the people cramming into our Sunday morning service. In the process we discovered a whole new group of people that were seeking something unique like this. Our numbers continue to grow – we’re reaching around 300 each weekend – and now, we stand 2 weeks from planting our next campus in midtown Detroit. Our Night-Light attenders will be the primary core for this next adventure.
I’ll miss Night-Light… a lot! I love the intimacy & simple passion that’s evident each weekend. Maybe some day we’ll add it back to our week. That would be cool.
With 2 weeks remaining, we still do not have a building or even reserved rental space for the next plant – I know it sounds crazy and NOT the way God does things… yet, I believe this is His plan… I KNOW IT IS! So, I’ll remain on my face in prayer each day and then continue to seek the place He has already secured for us to take.
HE’S FAITHFUL.
I would lying to say that this is easy. Trust is tough. We all talk a good game but when it comes right down to the wire, do you really believe? Does your little brain (like mine) get in the way of God’s bigger plans? Does it have to make sense to you in order for it to be God’s will? Are you sure? God’s looking for courage & obedience not an advisor… I WILL BE FOUND FAITHFUL.
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage;
be strong. Do everything in love. 1 Cor. 16:13-14.

By the way, we’re closing a chapter – not the book! Which means we’re also beginning a new chapter…
Night Light is one of my favorite times of the week. There is a close friendship amongst everyone who comes every Saturday night. I can’t believe I’m missing the last one. But I’m pumped for what will be taking place very soon in Detroit.
You model fearless faith, passion, and a love for the lost to the rest of us! thank Chilly. You are an inspiration.
Thanks for being an example to all of us. Your obedience and trust encourages and challenges me.
Sad, I’m sure! But so exciting for the next chapter! I’m so proud of your faith, to many people have to have everything figured out, it must be charted and graphed all t’s crossed and all the i’s dotted, before they will do what God is telling them to do. Jesus told the disciples follow me, and they dropped their nets and left the only lives they ever knew, and because of their obedience they changed the world. Chilly you are a true disciple and world changer, I’m so proud to be called your brother! A miracle is when God does what men say is impossible, are you ready for a miracle? I know you are! I love you and am praying daily for you!

Yeah…many times when trials come God has asked me “Do you trust me?” We have no choice but to answer yes. We usually don’t trust ourselves. It’s nice to know we don’t have to trust ourselves.
But God alone is our Provider. He has never let us down….ever. Sar and I have been praying for you all. From our vantage point it’s so exciting to see God do new things. Yes, especially when it’s not us in the hot seat. 
hey chilly — i’ve been praying for midtown. what i think is most awesome is that you all are corporately being obedient to God, and you’re letting the world watch as He goes before you to make a way. i love getting to watch your faith and His faithfulness! i’m definitely encouraged, even from 400 miles away
Even though I’ve only been a couple times to Night Light, I’m gonna miss it! praying for your new chapter!

I’ve loved Night Light and can’t believe it’s been two years – how fast it’s gone by. I’m thankful I was able to be a part of it.

Everything will be done to glorify God. I am confident that you are a man of God and He will finish what he started with you. I think the moment will come when you get a new place. you will have all the same joy that Noah had when he felt those first few rain drops and the faith paid off.
