Midtown Miracle… it’s ALIVE!

I’m sitting outside at a Starbucks in Florida. I’ve come down here to recharge my batteries and pick-up & drive back a ‘new’ vehicle for Netta that has been given to us. I say ‘new’ because it’s new to us – but, actually 11 years old. It’s a big, Chevy Suburban – very cool. I’m really humbled by this gift.
This past weekend was one of the coolest encounters that I’ve had w/ God in a really long time. God has been stirring my heart about whatever is ‘next’ in my life & ministry – I had been feeling a bit confused, frustrated and impatient. Through my times in prayer and the ministry of Pastor Jim Cymbala, God brought some clarity & momentum back to the work that He is leading me (us) in… so, without a building, needed funds and NO full staff assembled; we’re STARTING the church!
The image above, is a duplicate of what I wrote on a blank page in my journal. Simple. Crazy. GOD! As I was seeking clarity on whether this was, indeed, God’s timing and whether I should tell our people, the Lord directed me to this passage…
“Lord, you are mine! I promise to obey your words! With all my heart I want your blessings. Be merciful as you promised. I pondered the direction of my life, and I turned to follow your laws. I will hurry, without delay, to obey your commands“ Psalm 119:57-60.
So, here we go, in one month my family and small team plan to be in Midtown Detroit on Sunday, January 10, 2010! The word is OUT! This is Real Church‘s Week of War (WOW) – we have people praying and fasting each day & walking Woodward Avenue in midtown each evening. We NEED MIRACLES!

We were the first to stand with you in the launching of REAL Church – Hamtramck and we will contine to be a part of what God is saying to you as you launch this new REAL Church – Midtown. If I were a bit younger and if your mother wasn’t in such poor health; we would be with you in person as well – Keep the fire a burning; Detroit needs the Savior.

love to see one great man of God supporting and lifting up another…even speaks louder to me when it is father lifting up son…I believe I see a great man of God who has walked in faith and has encouraged and built up a son to do the same…and a son who has been called to carry on the legacy that was laid before him…you are both an encouragement to me…
Do it again in Midtown God. Use Chilly, Netta and the whole gang to touch another needy neighborhood for your glory.
