It is a rare and marvelous thing when you can see with your eyes OPEN. That’s right, open. Most people have sight without vision. And, some people have vision without sight. But, the true blessing comes when you leave the place of vision (prayer) and continue to see God’s plan unfolding right before your very eyes.

I think God desires to show you things in the darkness of your prayer closet that will make the light much brighter as you walk in the awareness of His purpose. Vision is vital to life - don’t choose to see only what is obvious – that’s blindness. Instead, climb into the windows of His eyes and see beyond yourself, your needs and your feeble existence. Be empowered by vision and believe, again, in the unbelievable.

Close your eyes for a moment and ask God to transplant His vision into the stagnant sockets that have hosted sight but rarely been illuminated by pure vision.  Go ahead, ask… now, read on.

Where there is no vision, the people perish. Proverbs 29:18

Perish… This isn’t a figurative statement. We need a radical willingness, desire & desperation to SEE beyond the obvious and into the eternal purposes of our maker.  Vision is essential.

  • We do not need more intellectual power, we need more spiritual power. We do not need more of the things that are seen, we need more of the things that are unseen. Calvin Coolidge ~ America’s 13th President
  • It is a terrible thing to see and have no vision. Helen Keller
  • If only we could pull out our brain and use only our eyes. Pablo Picasso
  • Some men see things as they are and say, ”Why?” I dream of things that never were, and say, ”Why not?” George Bernard Shaw
  • When I think of vision, I have in mind the ability to see above and beyond the majority. Pastor Charles Swindoll
  • No man that does not see visions will ever realize any high hope or undertake any high enterprise. Woodrow Wilson ~ America’s 28th President
  • Vision looks inwards and becomes duty. Vision looks outwards and becomes aspiration. Vision looks upwards and becomes faith. Stephen S. Wise
  • I have seen, at different times, the smoke of a thousand villages – villages whose people are without Christ, without God, and without hope in the world. Robert Moffat ~ missionary

Allow God to open your eyes today…

Your blogs are always a challenge to me and this one on vision is no exception. Thanks so much.

No, thank YOU!

You’ve been my role-model & example throughout my life. I’m eternally linked to your life & ministry.

Thanks for the reminder. God has been working this in me today and you just put it into words. Lots of “Oh! I see!” moments today. Looking forward to more.

Good word!
My vision had gotten impaired by other people and their lack of it.
God forgive me for being distracted and knocked off course.

I really like the one by S. Wise.
Thx.

“Don’t choose to see only what is obvious – that’s blindness.” Whoa!
God’s vision always requires faith (what is unseen) – that’s the vision I want.

I agree also with Netta bout Wise’s quote. Thanks Rev. Great word.

Don’t choose to see only what is obvious-that is blindness. Instead Climb into the windows of His eyes and see beyond myself, my needs, my feeble existence. That part is very impacting to me!! God has already been dealing with me since this past weekend about this very issue. Thank you for your amazingly challenging words today.

Thanks pastor Chilly, i needed that.
I have to see things with vision, not just how they are now.. I know God has a plan for my life, just, sometimes it seems too far off to even matter right now–but that’s not how God sees it.. He’s preparing me now, for what lays ahead, and i have to look at my life now, and my future through his eyes, not my own..
